Dreams Come True

There is a lot to say about graduating college, getting married, buying your first house, having a baby...but buying a lawn mower? You may not rank this moment in your life with much importance but my sweet husband does and he has waited for it for a long time. I would actually say it is probably close to the top of his list!

We have been saving a little bit each month to kind of prepare for this purchase. It has been something we knew was coming but I really didn't think it was necessary since we had an old one of his dad's that we could use. Well, conveniently for John it stopped working in the middle of the yard a couple nights ago. I think he was secretly excited because he knew that meant we could buy a new one. Since he had spent a lot of time researching the product in Consumer Reports and online he was ready to go shopping for his first lawn mower.

Before I go any further, there is something you should know about my husband. When he goes "shopping" he actually goes "buying." There is no looking around or coupon clipping, he just goes in for the purchase and never looks back. This purchase was no different, and I actually liked it this way for tonight because he was so happy. They put it on a cart, it fit in our car, and we took it home. He had a smile on his face the whole way home. I kind of thought that would be the end of our exciting lawn mower buying date night. I was wrong. We actually carried the lawn mower into our dining room, opened it, and proceeded to unwrap it and put it together. I wish you could have heard through this process.

He loves it and I loved that we were able to get the exact kind that he wanted!

It will be an exciting day on Grand Avenue when it stops raining and he can take it outside and try it out! (It will be nice to get it out of our dining room too!)

More pictures to come.

  1. Sometimes it's the small things that give us the most joy...Johnny has been in training for 27 years to have a yard like his Dad's and this is am important piece of the process. I am so proud of both of you for your hard work to make your home beautiful and full of love.

  2. Our dear Cailo, we are so happy for you. It is sweet to see some one get so giddy over a lawn mower. If that makes him beam so brightly, I can't wait til the baby announcement comes. You guys are too cute! Happy mowing friends!!

And, John, if you get bored and lonely on a hot summer day, we have a big yard that you are welcome to play in any day!!
