Graduation Day

I can breath a sigh of relief.  I did it.  I watched Macy and Johnny graduate from preschool.  This day had been overwhelming my mind and heart for some time.  The normal emotion of sending your little off on the next adventure definitely came into play but for me this day held so much emotion because had Charlie still been alive we wouldn't really be leaving Wise Owl, this chapter wouldn't be closing.  It would be "See you next year!" rather than "Goodbye!" And that made me so overwhelmingly sad.

Macy and Johnny started Wise Owl when they were just two (turning three) years old in the "Play to Day" class on Friday mornings.  They spent every Friday morning with Mrs. Zell and Mrs. Sowers and it was the perfect first experience.  They loved it and we enjoyed learning about their adventures as they started on this path.

The next year they had Mrs. Hochleutner and Mrs. Schwalbach.  They learned so much in this class.  It was the beginning of their true love of learning and love of school.  They were curious and they wanted to learn and they had the perfect teachers to help them as they made their way through this school year.

This past year has definitely been our most treasured year.  I am sure it is because they are older and share so much with us each day when we come home.  Mrs. Hochleutner and Mrs. Buecker have been perfect for Macy and Johnny.  They love them like their own and Macy and Johnny couldn't wait for "big class" every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  Then, of course, Mrs. Recht spent Tuesdays and Thursdays with Macy and Johnny in their Enrichment class.  She was cherished as well.  "Little class" was the best thing to ever happen to them.  They learned SO much and made lasting friendships with children that will be attending Woodfill with them in the fall.

We are thankful for Wise Owl and all the amazing things we have experienced while we were there.  Yesterday was also a great way to say goodbye.  It was full of joy and started our weekend off on the perfect note.

  1. Graduation day is one or the other way a very special occasion for all of us. Our farewell party thrown by juniors was mind blowing. One of the centrally located event venues were booked with amazingly prepared catering menu. Cup cakes were yummy and almost of all flavors. Drinks of tiramisu and bourbon were the best.
